Ready to start your summer with a smash? With everything from pizza and a movie to games and friends, the CRRL invites all teens to relax and have fun at our annual Super Summer Smash events.
The fun starts at the Porter Branch on Friday, June 16, and at the Headquarters Library on Saturday, June 17. Both events are from 6:00-8:00 for teens in grades 6-12. The library will be closed to everyone but you at these special after-hours events.
A Joint Program of the National Park Service and the Central Rappahannock Regional Library
This September, the National Park Service and the Central Rappahannock Regional Library will host a speaker series focusing on various topics related to the history of the National Park Service, which turned 100 years old on August 25.
All programs are free and begin at 7:00. They will be held at Central Rappahannock Regional Library’s Headquarters at 1201 Caroline Street.

In 2011, Jennifer Pharr Davis set a record by hiking the entire Appalachian Trail in 46 days. In her book, Called Again: A Story of Love, she shares what she learned there about the importance of planning, perseverance, teamwork, and faith, as well as the lessons that the rest of her life has taught her. Ms. Davis was named the 2012 National Geographic Adventurer of the Year for her feat and has since gone on to found her own company, Blue Ridge Hiking.
Learn more about Ms. Davis when she talks about her insights at the Porter Branch on Wednesday, September 30, at 7:00. Refreshments will be served. Look for signed copies of her book, which will be available for purchase.
