Teen Poetry Contest and Teen Poetry Night
Are you a teen poet? Here's something to celebrate: our annual Teen Poetry Contest!
We have the place for you to share your poems and get some feedback!
Step 1: You write the poems. Two categories, Grades 7-9 and Grades 10-12.
Step 2: Submit your original poetry online on our teen site.
Entries will be accepted April 1-15; maximum of three entries per person.
Step 3: Claudia Emerson, 2006 Pulitzer Prize winner, current Poet Laureate of Virginia, and UMW Professor, is the judge.
Step 4: Teen Poetry Night!
Winners will be awarded prizes and invited to read their work at Teen Poetry Night on Thursday, April 29, 7:30pm, HQ Library theater. Sign-up to attend Teen Poetry Night by calling 540-372-1144 and ask for the Youth Services desk.
